Brick Hosting Roundtable On Sandy Insurance Payout Issues Wednesday

The meeting, co-hosted by Save Our Communities, will focus on the coming last chance to contest flood insurance payouts.

Homeowners who are seeking to have their flood insurance claims from Hurricane Sandy revisited are urged to come to a round-table discussion next week on the impending FEMA review.

Co-hosted by Brick Township and Save Our Communities 2013, the discussion will focus on the most recent “look-backs” on flood insurance payouts for victims of Sandy, according to a news release from Brick officials.

“From all indications, this will be the final opportunity for homeowners (both primary and secondary) to contest flood insurance settlements,” the release said.

“The flood insurance process is quite complicated and can be overwhelming for citizens trying to navigate it. The more information we can provide to help the better,” Mayor John Ducey said. “We are pleased to be working with the dedicated members of Save Our Brick Communities to host this presentation and continuing to help citizens impacted by Sandy and the flood insurance program.”

The presentation and subsequent discussions will be held on Wednesday, May 27, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Brick Township Municipal Building. It is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.
