Brick Kids Keeping Busy At Police Camp 2016

The camp winds up with graduation on Tuesday, police said.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township students are getting a glimpse at life in law enforcement at the 2016 Brick Police Camp.

The camp, being held at the Ocean County Police Academy at Ocean County Park in Lakewood, has included visits by the New Jersey State Police Aviation Unit and the MONOC MedEVAC Unit, a tour of the Coast Guard Station in Shark River, a visit with the New Jersey State Police Marine Unit in Point Pleasant and a tour of the Naval Air Station in Lakehurst and Army National Guard Aviation Unit.

Campers have ridden with members of the Brick Police Department on the EVOC Course, visited the Brick Township Fire Training Center and toured the Laurelton Fire Department, and checked out the Monmouth Regional High School ropes course.

They also held a friendly competition with the campers participating in the Point Pleasant Police Department Police Camp, Brick police said.

Brick Police Camp 2016 finishes up with a graduation ceremony scheduled for 6 p.m. at Windward Beach Park on Tuesday, Aug. 2, during National Night Out.

"The Brick Township Police Department would like to send out a huge thank you to all of the organizations that made Brick Police Camp 2016 an awesome experience for the kids," the department said on Facebook.
