Brick Mayor Ducey Planning Facebook Live Town Hall Meetings

A Facebook Live interview prompts decision to try them, officials said.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township is adding another method of connecting government with residents.

The township, which currently uses Facebook, Twitter and Nixle to distribute information to residents, in addition to the township's website, will be holding Facebook Live town hall meetings with Mayor John G. Ducey.

"After the great response to last week’s interview with Jersey Shore Hurricane News, Mayor Ducey has decided to host regular Town Hall Meetings on Facebook Live," the township posted on its Facebook page.

"The first one will be on Tuesday, December 20 at 2 p.m. Mayor Ducey will discuss what is happening in Town Hall and answer questions submitted during the live stream," the post said.

That is the same day as the next Township Council meeting, which is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Ducey also has a monthly talk radio show called"Talking Brick with Mayor Ducey" that is hosted online. He said the radio show will continue for the time being.
