Brick Man Had 12 Dogs, 170 Bags Of Heroin In Home, Police Say
John Carter, 33, has been charged with multiple drug counts and could face charges related to the dogs, police said.

A Brick Township man is facing multiple drug charges after 170 bags of heroin were seized from his home on Wednesday morning, Brick police said.
John Carter, 33, was arrested at his South Lake Drive home after a search warrant was executed following a monthlong investigation of Carter by the township’s Drug Enforcement Unit, Sgt. Larry Petrola said.
During the search, the Drug Enforcement Unit and the township’s Special Emergency Response Team found 170 bags of heroin, $726 in cash, plus some marijuana, Petrola said.

Additionally, there were 12 pit bulls in the home, Petrola said. The town’s animal control officer responded and took the dogs that needed medical attention from the home, Petrola said.
A vehicle was seized in addition to the drugs, he said.

Carter was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, Petrola said. He was processed and released on a criminal summons with a pending court date.
Additional charges regarding the dogs are pending further investigation, Petrola said.
