BRICK, NJ — A Brick Township man was hospitalized after his pickup truck crashed and flipped early Saturday morning in Brick, police said.
William Burdge, 47, of Brick, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment of a broken leg and a head injury following the crash, which was reported about 2 a.m., Brick Patrolman Scott Dierking said.
The crash happened on Cherry Quay Road north of Cherry Lane, Dierking said. Burdge was southbound on Cherry Quay Road in a gray 2017 Chevy Colorado pickup truck when the pickup left the road, driving across the lawn of one home before hitting trees in the front yard of the next, he said.

The impact with the trees caused the pickup to overturn, Dierking said. When police arrived Burdge, who had been able to get out of the pickup, was found sitting on ground outside it, and Burdge was disoriented and had a head injury, he said.
Brick Township Police EMS and MONOC paramedics responded, along with other police to help assist with traffic, which was detoured for about two hours while the crash was investigated.
