Cobbs was arrested June 18, 2019, following a three-month investigation that identified his home as being used to store and distribute marijuana. A search of his vehicle led to the seizure of about 125 grams of marijuana, and search of his home turned up 160 grams of marijuana packaged for resale, more than $2,000 in cash, and a .40-caliber handgun with a defaced serial number.

Billhimer praised Assistant Prosecutor Stephen Burke, as well as the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force and Asset Forfeiture Unit, Brick Township Police Department Drug Enforcement Unit, Brick Township Police Department Special Emergency Response Team, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
