Brick Man's Car Hit As 6-Vehicle Crash Sends 1 Man To Hospital

Police say a 73-year-old man suffered a medical episode and crashed into five other cars in Wall, including one from Brick.

WALL, NJ — A Brick Township man was among five drivers whose vehicles were hit when a 73-year-old man had a medical episode in Wall on Saturday, police said.

The driver who had the medical episode, a Bradley Beach man, had to be extricated and was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

He was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus west on Sea Girt Avenue when he suffered the episode. His car then hit cars on Sea Girt Avenue, on Route 35, and he wound up in the parking lot of Simonas Bakery, police said.

None of the other drivers — a 63-year-old Sea Girt woman, a 66-year-old woman from Neptune City, a 47-year-old man from Brick, a 47-year-old man from Wall and a 26-year-old man from Howell — were injured, police said.

South Wall Fire Rescue extricated the man using a new electric Holmatro rescue tool.

The incident is still under investigation, police said.
