BRICK, NJ — Marching band runs strong in Brick. While the Brick Memorial Marching Mustangs tend to get the bulk of the attention, the Brick Township Marching Dragons showed they have championship mettle recently, bringing home some hardware of their own.

The Dragons marching band captured the Chapter 10, 1-A championship in the Tournament of Bands competition on Oct. 21. Then the Dragons placed fourth out of 23 bands in their group at the Atlantic Coast Championships on Oct. 28.

"Our tiny band worked so hard for their accomplishments," said Jess VanFossen, the Marching Dragons' color guard coordinator.
