BRICK, NJ — There were Scouts and Little Leaguers, marching bands and veterans groups. And plenty of red, white and blue.

Under clear, sunny skies, Brick Township held its annual Memorial Day parade and remembrance ceremony, honoring the men and women who've died in combat serving in the military.

The audience for the parade for Memorial Day — the day the country remembers its war dead — stretched for more than 1-1/2 miles, from the former Foodtown site on Route 70 along Chambers Bridge Road to the municipal building, waving flags and paying tribute.
