Brick Memorial Marching Band Wins 5th Straight Championship

The Marching Mustangs were serenaded by sirens as they received a police-and-fire escort to the high school on Sunday.

BRICK, NJ — If you heard sirens in the Herbertsville section of town on Sunday afternoon, it wasn't for an emergency; the Brick Memorial Marching Mustangs were receiving an escort from police and fire vehicles after winning another championship.

The Marching Mustangs won the Atlantic Coast Championship at the Tournament of Bands, adding yet another trophy to their trophy case at Brick Memorial High School. The Mustangs were the Group 4 Open Class Champion, with a score of 97.10, and high scores for music, auxiliary, and brass.

The championship is their fifth straight; they have won at least nine championships going back to 2008.
