Officials said municipal court is canceled for Monday but town hall will be reopen on Tuesday.
BRICK, NJ — A natural gas leak that forced the evacuation of the Brick Township Municipal building has closed the building for the day, officials said Monday afternoon.
Brick Township police issued a Nixle alert about the evaculation shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. The natural gas leak resulted in the municipal complex being closed for the remainder of the day, and the township's municipal court session scheduled for Monday was canceled, police said.
New Jersey Natural Gas crews responded and the gas leak was secured about two hours later. Police said in a Nixle update that the municipal building would reopen Tuesday.
