Brick Officer Injured As Driver Hits Patrol Car: Police
The crash happened just days after targeted enforcement in Ocean County of the state's Move Over Law.

BRICK, NJ -- A Brick Township police officer was injured early Saturday when a driver hit her patrol car while she was assisting with a crash investigation, Brick police said.
Officer Nicole Borden was treated at Ocean Medical Center and later released, Capt. David Forrester said.
Borden had just gotten back into her patrol car following the investigation of the crash on Route 70 west near Burnt Tavern Road when her car was hit by a white Mazda 3 driven by Tamara Bailey, 46, of Brick, Forrester said.

Bailey failed to move over to the adjacent lane of travel, he said. She has been charged with driving under the influence, assault by auto, refusal to take a DUI test, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and violation of the move over law.
Bailey is being held at the Ocean County Jail awaiting a detention hearing.

The crash happened just days after Brick police and law enforcement throughout Ocean County spent Labor Day weekend targeting and educating the public on the "Move Over Law," which requires motorists to move over if they approach stopped police or emergency vehicles with their flashing lights going or, if they cannot move over, to slow down below the posted speed limit.
A Move Over Law video was also posted on Brick Township Police Department’s social media accounts, Forrester said. "Drivers should be reminded not to drink and drive and to slow down and move over when they see stopped emergency and service vehicles on the side of the road."
