Brick Officials To Open Call Center To Aid Residents During Blizzard

Township reminds residents to get vehicles off the street so road crews can plow effectively

The Brick Township Office of Emergency Management said the township will have a call center open Tuesday beginning at 6 a.m. for residents needing non-emergency assistance due to the blizzard.

The number for the call center is 732-262-1234.

“As always, for emergencies you can utilize 911 or call the Brick Township Police Department’s main number at 732-262-1100,” the news release said.

Township officials also reminded residents to get any vehicles off the street ahead of the storm.

“One of the biggest factors to clearing roads in previous large storms was the presence of vehicles and other obstacles left on the street. Please remove all vehicles and other items so our Public Works Department can clear our streets more effectively,” the announcement said.

If you do not have to travel, please consider staying indoors as conditions and do not drive are expected to make travel dangerous, officials said.

Township officials also shared a notice from the New Jersey State Police, related to clearing vehicles from roads during the blizzard:

“The New Jersey Department of Transportation, under authority granted to Commissioner Jamie Fox by NJSA Title 27:7-21,9, is requesting the New Jersey State, County and Municipal Police to remove any abandoned or disabled vehicles on State and Interstate Roadways, Statewide. This request is for the duration of the winter storm and is effective from 1400hrs January 26, 2015 until 1400hrs on January 27, 2014.”
