Brick Police-Involved Shooting: Armed Man Dead Following Domestic Dispute, Prosecutor's Office Says

BRICK, NJ — A man armed with a handgun was fatally shot by Brick Township police following a domestic dispute in Brick early Sunday, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office confirmed Sunday.
Al Della Fave, spokesman for the prosecutor's office, said the shooting happened early Sunday morning at a home on Meridian Drive where police responded after a neighbor called 911 to report a disturbance.
Police responded about 5:30 a.m., Della Fave said, and found the man armed with a handgun. After the shooting, authorities found two females inside the home who had been assaulted, Della Fave said. He did not have ages on the females and said they were taken to an unspecified area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Detectives will interview the females and officers involved in the shooting, Della Fave said.
The man's name and the names of the officer or officers involved were not released Sunday.

Brick Township Police Chief James Riccio confirmed the shooting Sunday morning but referred all further questions to the prosecutor's office.
