Brick Police Seek Tips In Child Luring Attempt

A man with light brown, thinning hair is sought; he is accused of trying to lure the girl as she got off the bus.

BRICK, NJ -- Brick Township police are warning parents to remind their children about the dangers of talking to strangers after a 9-year-old girl was verbally accosted after getting off the school bus on Tuesday.

In a news release Wednesday afternoon, Brick Sgt. Neal Pedersen said police are continuing to investigate the incident, which happened on the 200 block of Greenwood Loop Road on Tuesday.

Responding police officers were told the girl saw a man standing near a dumpster, and as started to walk away, he said, "Hey little girl, come here, I have candy for you,” Pedersen said.
