BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township School District has moved Monday night's meeting where it will redoing the lottery for its general education preschool program to Brick Township High School.

The new lottery, which resulted after it was discovered about 30 registrations were accidentally omitted from the original drawing, will follow an information session with district administrators. The meeting and drawing will be held in the auditorium at Brick High School. The doors open at 5:45 p.m. and the information session is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

"We have folks who were left out, which was unfair," Superintendent Gerard Dalton said. "We felt to be equitable, we needed to rerun the lottery."

Parents who had been notified in mid-April that their children had been chosen in the original lottery have been critical of the new lottery, which will pull 150 names plus a waiting list for spots in the program, which is being funded with a three-year grant from the state Department of Education. More than 360 registrations were received for the 150 available spots.
