Brick Promotes Police Officer, Welcomes 3 To Department

BRICK, NJ — Three new officers joined the Brick Township Police Department and two others were promoted during swearing-in ceremonies at the Brick Township municipal building on Tuesday.
Mayor John Ducey and Police Chief James Riccio swore in the new officers: Andriy Shevchuk, Matthew Knehr and Kyle Patrick. Shevchuk and Knehr are headed to the police academy soon, while Patrick, who comes to the department with experience, began his field training immediately, officials said.
In addition, Officer Jason Shepherd was promoted to the rank of sergeant. He will be supervising the night shift, "and brings with him years of knowledge and experience," officials said in a news release.
