Brick Receives $367K State Grant For Laurelhurst Work

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township is set to receive more than $367,000 from the state Department of Transportation through the state's 2020 municipal aid grant program.

The grant is among more than $161 million in grants being doled out across the state for a variety of local transportation projects. The funding for the grants comes from New Jersey's Transportation Trust Fund, according to the state transportation department website.

Brick's grant totals $367,755 and is for the second phase of roadwork in the township's Laurelhurst section.

The individual allotments to qualifying municipalities are based on proportions determined by the Department of Community Affairs, and the aid is allocated by county based a formula that considers population and municipal roadway miles.
