Brick Restaurant's Blue Ribbon Program Backs Law Enforcement

Throughout January, River Rock Restaurant diners who mention their PBA will ensure donations to their local police

People seeking to show their support for law enforcement in the wake of the shooting of two New York City police officers late last month have been doing a number of things -- changing their Facebook profile photos to blue, posting signs and more.

The River Rock Restaurant and Marina in Brick has taken that one step farther: donating funds to local Police Benevolent Associations through its Dining to Donate Blue Ribbon Program, according to a flyer posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Throughout January, each time a diner mentions their local PBA to their server, the restaurant has pledged to donate 15 percent of the net proceeds from that check to that particular PBA.

In addition, the restaurant, which has hosted a number of fundraisers, is selling long-sleeved T-shirts “supporting our local blue,” with the entire proceeds from each T-shirt going to the respective PBAs.

The donations will be totaled up at the end of January, and checks issued to the PBAs that are mentioned by diners.
