BRICK, NJ — In one of the smallest fields in several years, just five candidates filed petitions for the 2021 Brick Township Board of Education election.

There are three, three-year terms up for election on the seven-member all-volunteer board, and the three incumbents — Stephanie Wohlrab, Victoria Pakala and Nicole Siebert — are seeking re-election when voters go to the polls on Nov. 2.

Wohlrab, who has been board president for the last four years, and Pakala are seeking their third terms. Siebert is seeking her second term. They are running under the "Believe in Brick" slogan.

Challenging them are Walter F. Campbell and Frances DiBenedictis.

Campbell served on the board from June 2010 to December 2011, finishing a term after a seat was vacated. He sought election in 2016 but was defeated. He chaired the facilities committee when he served on the board and has been a frequent critic of the current board over facilities issues. Campbell did not give a campaign slogan.
