BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township Board of Education is set to extend the contract for Superintendent Thomas G. Farrell at its meeting Thursday.

Farrell was hired in January 2020 and took over March 1, 2020, just two weeks before the coronavirus pandemic shutdown. He is in the final year of his initial four-year contract.

The agenda for the board meeting shows the plan is to rescind the final year of that contract and replace it with a five-year contract, extending Farrell's service to June 30, 2028.

Full terms of the contract will be released after the board vote, the agenda says.

Farrell is slated to earn $211,130 for the 2023-24 school year under his current contract. He does not take separate health benefits but is covered under those of his wife, Linda, who is a kindergarten teacher in the district.
