Brick School Briefly Evacuated After Minor CO Leak: Police

Students and staff were out of the school briefly while firefighters found the source of the leak, police said.

BRICK, NJ — Students and staff at Midstreams Elementary School were briefly evacuated Wednesday morning after a minor carbon monoxide leak at the school, Brick police said.

The incident happened about 11:30 a.m., police said via social media about 12:45 p.m. Students and staff were moved outside while the fire department found the leak and stopped it.

"All children are safe and sound, back inside the school to finish their school day," the message said. There were no reports of injuries.

Brick Township emergency personnel remained at the school but were clearing out by 12:45 p.m., police said.
