Brick Soccer Teams Raise Funds For Toms River Girl

The family of Faith Calvo, a 1-year-old fighting neuroblastoma, got a helping hand from two Twin County teams.

A pair of girls soccer teams based in Brick Township took some time recently to raise money to help the family of a Toms River girl who is battling cancer.

The Twin County Soccer Association’s U17 Kaos and U11 Fusion, both coached by Jim and Kathy Crossnohere, made ribbons and bows and sold them to raise money for Faith Ruth Calvo, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in January, after a tumor was discovered in her abdomen during her 1-year-old checkup.

She is undergoing chemotherapy treatments at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and according to a Facebook page set up by her parents, Drew and Lindsey Calvo, In It To Win It - Faith Ruth Calvo, doctors at CHOP also have harvested stem cells from the little girl.
