Brick Splitting Townwide Yard Sale Into 2 Dates

The popularity of the townwide yard sale has convinced officials to split it in half and hold it on two dates. Registration is open.

BRICK, NJ — The townwide yard sale in Brick has become one of the more popular events the township holds each year, attracting more than 400 homes each time.

That popularity has prompted Brick Township officials to add a second dates and split the town in half, the township announced.

"This is being done to make it easier for people to navigate sales," officials said.

The first townwide sale, for the northern half of Brick Township, is set for April 25. It will include all homes north of Forge Pond and the Metedeconk River.

"This area includes the Forge Pond neighborhood, the entire Route 88 corridor and the Princeton Avenue corridor," officials said.

The second townwide sale, for the southern half of the township, is set for Oct. 3, officials said.

Registration is open now for the North Brick Town-Wide Yard Sale and costs $5 per household to participate.

Registration can be completed in person at the Township Clerk’s Office, 401 Chambers Bridge Road, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants may also register by mail by downloading and printing out the registration form and mailing it to the clerk's office with payment and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the permit to be mailed to you.

Permits are good for three consecutive days and residents are permitted four yard sales per calendar year.

The township publishes a map of homes participating in the townwide yard sale to make it easier for shoppers to see which homes have items out for sale. Suggested sale hours are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
