Brick Storm Update: Cancellations, Reminders

Breaking: The Brick Township Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday evening is still being held.

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township officials announced that Thursday's Neighborhood Watch meeting scheduled for the Route 88-Old Squan Road-Burnt Tavern Road area has been canceled due to the winter storm.

That joins a list of other activities already canceled as a result of the storm.

However, the Brick Township Board of Education meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Brick Memorial High School, is still set to be held.

Other township cancellations and closures include:

Municipal Court. The session scheduled for Thursday is canceled. Anyone scheduled to appear will receive a notice of their new court date, officials said.

All activities at the township's Senior Outreach Services Center.

All activities at the township's Civic Plaza Activity Center.

The Relay 4 Life meeting has been rescheduled to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 16.

All recreation basketball practices and games.

All garbage and recycling collections that were scheduled for Thursday have been postponed to Friday; Friday's collections will be done on Saturday. Any other scheduled collections for bulk items or metal will be rescheduled for next week.

The township's recycling center at Ridge Road is closed on Thursday.

Residents are reminded to remove all vehicles and items from the road so snowplows can do their jobs efficiently.

If you must drive, give yourself extra time as the roads are hazardous, the Ocean County Sheriff's Department said.
