Brick Taxi Driver Robbed At Knifepoint: Police

The driver was not injured, police said. Police searched for the man with a K9 officer and said the investigation is continuing.

BRICK, NJ — A Mantoloking Taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint Saturday night after picking up a fare in the northern part of Brick, Brick Township police said Sunday.

Heather Buckles told police she picked up a fare at Stephen Road and Lark Lane shortly before 10 p.m. The patron asked her to take him to the Wawa on Newtons Corner Road in the Ramtown section of Howell.

During the trip, he robbed her at knifepoint and took her wallet, Brick police said. She described him as a black male with facial hair, about 25 to 35 years old, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with a medium build. She told police he was wearing dark clothing and a puffy jacket.

Police did not report any injuries.

Authorities are continuing to search for the man, Brick police said. Brick Detective Greg Mullarkey and ID Detective Brian Lash responded, and Howell Township police assisted in the search.
