Brick Teen Hurt When Car Hits Utility Pole

The 18-year-old was taken to the hospital with a knee injury, police said.

An 18-year-old from Brick was injured Friday morning when a car hit a utility pole on Drum Point Road, police said.

Ashley Lendle was driving west on Drum Point in a 2002 Chrysler Sebring when the car left the road and hit the utility pole near Circle Drive, Brick Sgt. Neal Pedersen said.

Lendle suffered a knee injury and had to be extricated from the car before she was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, via MONOC helicopter, he said.
