BRICK, NJ — Whether you're looking for ways to be a little more environmentally friendly or you're seeking ideas for the ideal summer garden, the 8th annual Brick Township Green Fair will have suggestions.

The environmental and sustainability showcase features vendors, exhibitors and student groups, all with ideas on home energy efficiency, landscape and gardening best practices and much more.

The Green Fair is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, in the East Gym at Brick Township High School.

The township's Shade Tree Commission has distributed tree seedlings at the fair yearly and will have about 1,000 to distribute at the fair.

Students from the Brick Township schools will give presentations on recycling, best environmental practices and more — and if you've never seen their displays, you should take a look; they are very informative.

There will be vendors and food sales, and a clothing drive that is a fundraiser for the Brick Municipal Anti-Drug Coalition. There also will be a place to recycle electronics you no longer need.

Door prizes will be given out, including garden beds, rain barrels, composters and more.

The Green Fair is a joint effort of the Sustainable Brick Committee, the Brick Township Environmental Commission, the Brick Township Recreation Department and the Tourism Commission.
