Brick Township Schools Announce Snow Decision

Breaking: The district is keeping an eye on the storm. Several private school have announced their decisions as well.

BRICK, NJ — Students and most of the staff in the Brick Township School District will get to sleep in on Tuesday, after the district announced school will be closed due to the storm that is expected to hit the Northeast.

The district did not have any emergency closure days built into the 2016-17 school calendar, and the Board of Education on Thursday approved a change to the school calendar to make up the snow day from January, with interim Superintendent Thomas Gialanella noting this week's storm could force another change due to the predictions at the time.

In addition, the following schools have announced closures for Tuesday:

  • St. Dominic School, Brick
  • Ocean County Vocational School District, including the Performing Arts Academy, Academy of Law and Public Safety and MATES
  • Ambassador Christian Academy, Toms River
  • Christian Brothers Academy, Middletown
  • Donovan Catholic and St. Joseph's Elementary School, Toms River
  • St. James Elementary School and Red Bank Catholic High School, Red Bank
  • St. John Vianney High School, Holmdel
  • Georgian Court University in Lakewood
  • Ocean County College, Toms River
  • Brookdale Community College: All locations and all classes and activities closed and canceled.
