Brick Township's Financial Officer Set To Retire

Scott Pezarras, who has been with the township for 32 years, is scheduled to be honored Tuesday evening.

Brick, NJ -- Brick Township officials will be bidding farewell to the township's chief financial officer on Tuesday evening.

Scott Pezarras, who has worked for the township since 1984, has announced his retirement. The Township Council agenda for Tuesday's meeting includes a resolution thanking him for his 32 years of service to the township.

Pezarras began his career in the township's Tax Assessor's Office, and later served as Brick's comptroller, according to the resolution. He was named the township's chief financial officer in 1994 and became the township's business administrator in 2006, after Scott MacFadden departed for Birdsall Engineering.

Pezarras's duties were returned to just serving as CFO in March 2014, when the township hired Joanne Bergin as business administrator.

Pezarras also serves as the tax assessor in Ocean Gate, in Keyport and in Lavallette. His Brick Township salary is $179,062, according to figures posted on DataUniverse; he earns an additional $76,066 from those positions, according to DataUniverse.
