
Fresh produce, a bakery and a deli are some of the changes Walmart officials unveiled at their store at 1872 Route 88 today.
The expansion adds approximately 33,000 square feet to the existing store and will allow for a larger selection of merchandise for customers, according to a prepared statement.
“Walmart has been an invaluable member and trusted supporter of our community since they opened their doors,” Brick mayor Stephen Acropolis said in the statement. “I congratulate them on this expansion and I look forward to many more years of a positive and productive relationship between our community and Walmart.”
The store features apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and lawn and garden items, a full line of groceries, and a pharmacy.

· $3,500 will be awarded to Brick Parks and Recreation
· $1,500 to Veterans Memorial Middle School

· $1,000 to the Brick High School Football program
· $1,000 to Drum Point Elementary School.
Store manager Michael Zanetti, a Brick native, began his Walmart career in 2009 as a store manager, according to the release.
"We look forward to seeing future customers at the grand opening and serving the community as we have for the past twenty years," said Zanetti.
As part of the grand opening, appearances of the Philly Phanatic and Chester the Cheetos Cheetah will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today Face painting and food sampling events will also be available.
At 1:30, the store will host a Monster energy drink zombie tour.
On Thursday, residents can enjoy an appearance from the Pillsbury Dough Boy and partake in more food sampling events.
A Bimbo Bakery event and Hershey bar raffle will be held on Friday.
On Saturday, there will be with a live broadcast from B98.5 radio from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m while attendees enjoy a Monster energy drink truck and Honest Tea samples. Festivities conclude on Sunday with food sampling events, a bicycle raffle, and a ‘Guess the Weight of the Pumpkin’ raffle.
