Brick War Memorial Rededication Set For Memorial Day

BRICK, NJ — Brick Township veterans organizations will rededicate the Brick War Memorial Monument on Memorial Day, to honor fallen military from Brick.

The research by William J. Duffy, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8867, has turned up 21 names of soldiers who died who hailed from Brick, going back to the Civil War.

Some of their names are memorialized at the township's War Memorial at the municipal complex on Chambersbridge Road, but through his research Duffy has found more, he said.

William Duffy and a group of veterans led an effort to get the township's veterans to honor those who gave their lives honored with banners at Windward Beach Park.

The rededication of the Brick Township memorial has been in the works for weeks.
