EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ — A Brick Township woman was one of two people charged after police raided a hotel room at the East Brunswick Hilton and recovered 11 pounds of cocaine and 13 pounds of marijuana with a street value of more than $450,000, police said Friday.
Alyssa Ugarte, 24, of Brick, and Jonathan Reyes, 24 of the Kendall Park section of South Brunswick, were arrested Feb. 22 following the execution of a search warrant at the hotel, East Brunswick police said. The arrests were announced May 11; police did not give a reason for the delayed announcement.
Members of the East Brunswick Special Investigations Unit received a tip about a man selling a large quantity of cocaine and marijuana at the Hilton, just off the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 1 in East Brunswick, police said.

After an extensive investigation, members of the East Brunswick Police Department's Special Investigations Unit and Detective Bureau, with the assistance of the Middlesex County Narcotics Task Force, Middlesex County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit and Hilton hotel security, executed a search warrant and recovered five kilograms of cocaine (approximately 11 pounds) and 13 pounds of raw marijuana, police said.
Reyes and Ugarte were taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility and held until a detention hearing, police said.
