Brick Woman Dies, 2nd Brick Woman Injured In Route 70 Crash, Police Say
The crash closed Route 70 in both directions for nearly four hours, police said.
WALL, NJ — A Brick Township woman died and two other women, including another Brick resident, were injured in a crash on that closed Route 70 in Wall for nearly four hours Thursday evening, police said.
The crash on Route 70 at Morningstar Road happened about 5:20 p.m., Wall Lt. Steven Nash said.
A 58-year-old woman from Brick was found unresponsive and was extricated from her vehicle and officers tried to save her life, Nash said. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead at 6:28 p.m., he said.

A 51-year-old woman from Brick, was treated for injuries to her face, head, and wrist, Nash said.
A 22-year-old woman from Manasquan was the third driver, but was not injured, Nash said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Wall Patrolman Joseph Liddy at 732-449-4500, ext. 1231.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Serious Collision Analysis Response Team assisted with the investigation he said.
Route 70 was reopened by about 9 p.m., Nash said.
