It is not the first incident in that section of Hooper Avenue. In October 2014 a man was hit by a vehicle in the same vicinity by a dark sedan. In that case the driver left the scene.

Nieto was hit as the Explorers was traveling northbound on Hooper, Pedersen said. She was treated at the scene by Brick Police First Aid and MONOC paramedics before being flown by MONOC1, he said.
