Brick Woman ID'd Among TCNJ Crash Victims

Four of the injured are members of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity; its former president is raising funds to help students with costs. .

EWING, NJ — A Brick Township woman has been identified as one of the eight people injured in a head-on crash involving students from The College of New Jersey.

A GoFundme set up to raise funds to help the TCNJ students injured in the crash identified Danielle DeFlores, 21, an open options major from Brick, as among those injured in the crash that happened early Sunday, Dec. 2.

David Lamar, 22, of West Windsor, has been charged with seven counts of assault-by-auto; police allege he was driving while impaired when the crash happened shortly after 2 a.m.

Lamar was driving south on Pennington Road in Ewing in a black 2018 Kia Optima when his car crossed over the double yellow lines and hit a 2007 Dodge Charger that was traveling northbound. William Walker, who identified himself as the former president of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at TCNJ, identified DeFlores and four others in the crash, four of whom are members of Phi Kappa Psi, he said. The other four identified were Matthew DeGenova, 21, an accounting major from Wall Township; Anthony Galante, 19, a finance major from North Bellmore, N.Y.; Ryan Moore, 21, a marketing major from Midland Park; and Michael Sot, 20, a math major from Clark.

Walker mentioned a fifth person, Moore's girlfriend, who is a student at Kutztown, but it was not clear from the GoFundme narrative whether she was in the Dodge or not. He said Sot was the designated driver and was driving the Dodge.

Walker said the proceeds of the GoFundme, which had reached nearly $67,000 as of 10 p.m. Monday, will be divided evenly among the families "to help pay for the cost of food, hotel rooms, medical bills, and other incurred fees."

Some of the injured were listed in critical condition, police said, and some were listed as stable. Three were at St. Mary's Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., and five were at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, police said.
