Brick Woman Killed In Monmouth County Crash: Authorities

The woman was one of two people who died in the two-vehicle crash in Tinton Falls on Thursday, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said.

TINTON FALLS, NJ — A Brick Township woman was killed Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Tinton Falls, the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office said Friday.

The 52-year-old woman and a 36-year-old man from Manalapan, who were driving separate vehicles, both died as a result of the crash that happened about 7 p.m. near the intersection of Shafto Road and Asbury Avenue, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said.

The woman, who was driving a 2005 Ford Freestyle SUV, died at the scene of the crash, Linskey said. The man, who was driving a 2021 Audi S6, was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune but succumbed to his injuries a short time later, she said.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, authorities said. The drivers' identities were being withheld pending notification of family members.

The crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), the Prosecutor’s Office, and the Tinton Falls Police Department.
