POINT PLEASANT, NJ — A Brick Township woman is still being sought after authorities say she threatened to give several people the coronavirus after an attempted carjacking at Sundaes in Point Pleasant, police said.

Jaymee Tice, 37, of Brick, is accused of making the threats during the April 26 incident at the Sundaes at 3217 Route 88, Point Pleasant Capt. Robert Lokerson said.

Police were called to the store for the report of the attempted carjacking, he said. Witnesses told police the driver of the car had gotten out to buy ice cream, leaving the car running with an adult passenger and a child inside.

Tice threatened to kill them and threatened to infect them with the coronavirus as they removed her from the vehicle. Once she was removed, Tice walked over to people waiting in line outside the store and began threatening to infect them with the coronavirus, he said.

Tice then walked away from the store and was found by Officer Christopher Phillips and Officer Travis Popiel a short distance away. She then repeatedly told the officers that she had "COVID" and refused to comply with their directions, Lokerson said.
