Brick Woman: Tinder Banned Me For Sanders Campaigning: Report
Robyn Gedrich says she was using the dating app to send messages encouraging others to support the Democratic candidate for president.

BRICK, NJ -- A Brick Township woman says she’s been banned from Tinder for using the dating app to send messages to other users to support Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, according to a report.
Reuters reported that Robyn Gedrich, 23, has been locked out of her account since last week.
Gedrich told the news service that she sent messages to 60 people a day for the past two weeks trying to convince them to support the U.S. senator from Vermont in his race for the Democratic nomination against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The messages to other Tinder users said: “Do you feel the bern?,” a reference to Sanders’ campaign slogan. “Please text WORK to 82623 for me. Thanks.”
Reuters reported that Gedrich, an assistant store manager at retailer Elie Tahari, said a text to that number would prompt people to start receiving updates from the Sanders campaign, as well as a link where they could sign up and volunteer.

Gedrich is not the only person banned for using the app for campaigning, according to the report; an Iowa woman also was banned, for similar reasons.
A spokeswoman for Tinder, which is part of Match Group Inc, owned by IAC/InterActiveCorp IAC.O, did not immediately answer Reuters’ request for comment.
