Brick's 2017 Green Fair Promises Education, Fun
The township will be distributing free tree seedlings at the event on Saturday.

BRICK, NJ — If you're looking for ideas on ways to make your home more green, better ways to grow vegetables or organic products to purchase for your home, the 7th annual Green Fair will have something for everyone.
The Green Fair, scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at Brick Township High School, 346 Chambersbridge Road, is free and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The township's Shade Tree Commission will be distributing seedlings in honor of Arbor Day. The seedlings are provided by the New Jersey Tree Recovery Program, the NJDEP and the New Jersey State Forestry Service. There are 10 varieties to choose from: white pine, bayberry, Eastern red cedar, black walnut, white flowering dogwoods, white oaks, persimmons, kousa dogwoods, sweetgums and blackgums. The Shade Tree Commission table also has an opportunity to win a $50 gift certificate to Berry Fresh Farms; the drawing will be held on Arbor Day, Friday, April 28.

The fair will feature dozens of local, green businesses and organizations, information on sustainable energy, vendors, exhibitors and much more. Door prizes for the event will include a 6x8 greenhouse, a 4x4 raised garden bed, a rain barrel donated by the BTMUA, four passes donated by Jenkinson's Aquarium and much more!
There will be a place to drop off electronic waste, provided by the Brick Recycling Company, Inc. Televisions will be the only item that cannot be accepted. Bring desk top computers, laptops, printers, DVD/CD players, smart/cell phones, and other e-waste for safe disposal

The event is hosted by the township's Sustainable Brick Committee, the Brick Environmental Commission and the Brick Township Recreation Department. Admission is free.
