Brush Fire Near Garden State Parkway In Brick Quickly Extinguished
Brick police said the fire near Brick High School and Garden State Parkway exit 90 northbound was quickly contained.
BRICK, NJ — A brush fire reported behind Brick Township High School was quickly extinguished Wednesday morning, Brick Township police said.
Police received a 911 call about 10:30 a.m. reporting the fire near Garden State Parkway Exit 90 northbound, in the area behind the high school, police said.
Firefighters who responded were able to contain the fire to the wood line and prevent it from spreading to school property, police said.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office issued an alert warning about the potential for traffic delays while the fire was being fought, but delays never happened because the fire was put out so quickly.
Brick police said the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service and all four Brick Township fire companies — Breton Woods, Pioneer Hose, Laurelton and Herbertsville — responded.
