Build-A-Bear Brick Event Raises Funds For Teen Center
Bears are still available. There's also a Teddy Bear Picnic Sunday at Windward Beach that's open to all teddy bears and their friends.

BRICK, NJ — If you love Build-A-Bear, and you love Brick Township, you have a chance to get your hands on a one-of-a-kind bear, as the company partners with Brick Township to create the first ever Brick Pride Bear.
The event is 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday, May 6 at the Brick Civic Plaza, 270 Chambersbridge Road and is a fundraiser for Lounge 270, the teen center, which operates through virtue of a grant and donations. The registration fee of $30 includes a bear, a special Brick Pride Bear T-shirt, a heart ceremony, a naming certificate and an audio recording. A portion of the fee will go toward supporting the Lounge 270 Teen Center.
The event is the first ever Build-A-Bear Pop-Up Workshop to be held by a city or municipality in the entire country. Bears are still available and can be reserved by visiting parksandrecreation.bricktownship.net and click on “Special Events”. You can also call 732-262-1044.

After the Build-A-Bear Workshop, participants are invited to Windward Beach from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to join Mayor John G. Ducey for a Teddy Bear Picnic. Participants are suggested to bring their bear, blanket and a picnic lunch to the park for this official welcoming ceremony. Other stuffed bears are welcome.
You do not need to participate in the Build-A-Bear Workshop to be a part of the picnic. The Teddy Bear Picnic will be held, weather permitting.
