Woman, 55, Killed After Pickup Truck Crashes Into House In Brick
Barbara Anne Filan, 55, died of her injuries suffered in the crash, police said.
BRICK, NJ — Brick Township police have released the identity of a woman who was killed when a pickup truck crashed into her home on Tuesday morning.
Barbara Anne Filan, 55, died of her injuries after she was taken to the hospital, Brick Sgt. Jim Kelly said.
The crash happened at 8:48 a.m. when William McEvoy, 86, who was driving a gray, 2014 Ford F-150 pickup truck, lost control and crashed into the house at 372 Drum Point Road, Kelly said.

The truck crashed through the outer wall into the living room, where Filan was lying in a bed. Filan was taken to the hospital, where she died.
McEvoy, of Brick, was extricated from the pickup and taken to Ocean Medical Center for observation, Kelly said.

Emergency crews and investigators, including police, EMS, Pioneer Hose and Breton Woods fire department, Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office responded.
Police and fire personnel worked to rescue involved parties and clear debris. The prosecutor’s office and the sheriff’s office helped the Traffic Safety Unit investigate the crash. The investigation is ongoing, Kelly said.
"Chief (James) Riccio would like to extend his deepest condolences to the families involved," Kelly said. "This is a tragic accident made all the more difficult by the time of year."
