, BRICK, NJ — After lengthy delays, Brick Township is moving forward with its plans to renovate Cedar Bridge Manor Park.

The park, on Manor Drive, sits along the Metedeconk River. The renovation project plans include two ADA-compliant playgrounds, exercise stations, a kayak launch, a replenished beach area and rip rap to protect the shoreline, township officials said.

Because the property sits on the water, the township needed more extensive permits from the state Department of Environmental Protection.

It also was delayed as state authorities conducted a search of the site for Native American artifacts. That search turned up nothing, Jersey Shore Online reported.

The Township Council on Tuesday night approved the plan to seek bids for the project, and town officials anticipate construction will begin in late spring.
