Celebrate Women's Health at Simon's Ocean County Mall with 'PAINT THE MALL PINK' Events
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with 'Paint the Mall Pink.'
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Ocean County Mall and other Simon malls across the country are marking the occasion with Paint the Mall Pink, a community-based grassroots program featuring educational displays, health fairs, retailer offerings, special events and other activities that promote women’s health. The month long program at Ocean County Mall is being sponsored by Meridian Health.
“As an integral part of the community, we want to be a resource for the health issues that affect women and their families,” said Tara Melodick, director of marketing and business development at Ocean County Mall. “We are honored to host a variety of ‘pink-themed’ activities during the month.”
Activities and events planned for Paint the Mall Pink at Ocean County Mall include the following:

• Health & Wellness Expo, presented by Meridian Health - Saturday, October 4. Meridian Health staff will be on hand from 12-3 p.m. in Center Court offering healthcare information, giveaways and free health screenings
• Teddy Bear Clinic, presented by Meridian Health – Sunday, October 26. From 1-3 p.m. in Center Court, all children are invited to bring their favorite stuffed friend to get a free check-up or have their boo-boos fixed with a special pink bandage by a Meridian Health nurse. There will also be other kids activities and giveaways, including a free portrait of children and their stuffed animal, courtesy of Picture People. A pink candy buffet and other treats will be available for new and existing Kidgit Club members as well.
• Pink Tree of Hope. Throughout October at Simon Guest Services, located in front of Macy’s, shoppers are invited to write a message of inspiration, hope or tribute on a pink tag and place it on the tree.
In addition, a variety of pink-themed items will be given away at Simon Guest Services, including keychains, bag clips, note pads, bracelets, pink ribbon socks and other goodies, while supplies last.
