Come 2 Mamas' Restaurant In Brick Closes Abruptly

Breaking: The restaurant has ceased operations, apparently for good.

BRICK, NJ — Patrons of Come 2 Mamas' are expressing sadness after the restaurant apparently closed without warning recently.

"Are you closed permanently? We go every Sunday for breakfast and we miss it!!" one customer wrote on the restaurant's Facebook page on April 7. "(The) diner just isn't the same!"

The restaurant, which has been operating since 2014 in the building on Brick Boulevard that previously housed a Friendly's, shut down sometime in the last two weeks. A call to the restaurant's phone number goes to an answering machine with a message that simply says, "Thank you for calling Come 2 Mamas'. We are now closed."

The restaurant had received numerous positive comments and had ratings of four stars or better on both Yelp and TripAdvisor for its simple and affordable menu that included a $3.99 breakfast special of eggs, potatoes toast and coffee and a $5.99 lunch special.

Named for the grandmothers of the owners — Grandma Jean and Grandma Mercedes — the restaurant's motto was "Families should sit around a table, share happiness, sorrows, and most importantly delicious food! Everything can be conquered through sharing good food and having real conversations."

From pancakes to BLTs to a two-alarm burger, patrons routinely raved about the food, which even earned a mention on the Real People Eating Food Facebook page for the restaurant's turkey club sandwich.

The reason for the closure was not immediately known; the answering machine at the restaurant was not accepting messages.
