Cops: Brick Man Used Heroin At Gas Station, Left 3-Year-Old Son In Car

A Brick man was arrested for leaving his 3-year-old son alone inside his car Saturday while he used heroin inside a gas station bathroom in Monmouth County, police said.
John Broskey of East Granada Drive in Brick was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe and child endangerment after the Saturday incident, according to the Ocean Township police.
Broskey’s son was turned over to the custody of the boy’s mother after the state Department of Child Protection and Permanency was notified.

At approximately 11:04 am, police were on patrol on Route 66 near Seaview Mall when they observed a suspicious car parked at a gas station.
An investigation revealed that Broskey had parked the car so he could use heroin at the Seaview Shell on Route 66, police said. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Township of Ocean Police Headquarters for processing.

Broskey’s bail was set at $20,000 with no 10 percent option by Judge Louis Garippo. Broskey was unable to post bail and was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution to await a future court hearing.
