Delayed By Coronavirus, Brick's SummerFest Coming In August

The popular SummerFest concerts and fireworks series will be held this summer; Brick residents just need to wait a little longer.

When Brick's SummerFest concert series resumes in August, it's likely people won't be sitting as closely as they did in 2018.

BRICK, NJ — If you were hoping for fireworks and summer concerts at Windward Beach Park this summer, you just have to be patient a little longer: the Brick Township SummerFest Concert Series is returning, but not until August because of the coronavirus pandemic.

With Gov. Phil Murphy beginning to ease restrictions put in place to slow the spread of the virus, Brick officials are able to announce a schedule for the popular summer series, which is marking its 26th year.

"Due to restrictions on the size of crowds, we had to move the series from July when we usually have it," Brick Mayor John G. Ducey said. "SummerFest is a popular, high-quality event that our families look forward to as part of their annual summer traditions. By boat or in person, the concert and fireworks are well worth the wait."

Brick officials said SummerFest 2020 may be modified in to meet whatever restrictions are in place at the time, officials said. Read more: NJ Coronavirus Updates: Here's What You Need To Know
