Delayed Opening For Brick Schools On Wednesday: See Start Times

With frigid temperatures and below-zero wind chills possible, Brick Township schools will have a delayed opening.

BRICK, NJ — The Brick Township School District will have a 2-hour delayed opening on Wednesday, the district announced.

"Due to the continued low temps and cleanup conditions; with an abundance of caution, Brick Schools will operate on a 2-Hour DELAYED OPENING schedule tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2026," the district said.

High school exams have been moved to Thursday and Friday, the district said, which officials said had been previously announced.

The announcement comes as the area remains under a cold weather advisory, with temperatures well below freezing and wind chills anticipated to be below zero, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m. Wednesday.

"Wind chills of as low as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken," the weather service warns. "Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin is exposed to these temperatures."

The 2-hour delay means the BEST program morning session is canceled.

The school opening times are as follows:

9:10 a.m.: Brick Memorial and Brick Township high schools

9:45 a.m.: Lake Riviera and Veterans Memorial middle schools

10:05 a.m.: Warren H. Wolf and Herbertsville Early Childhood Learning Centers

10:35 a.m.: Drum Point, Lanes Mill, Veterans Memorial elementary schools

11:15 a.m.: Emma Havens, Midstreams and Osbornville elementary schools
