A driver tried to pick up a Brick teen on Wednesday, and police are asking residents to be on the lookout.

At approximately 12:35 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was walking home from her bus stop at the intersection of Silverton Road and Linden Avenue when she was approached by a man driving a black Cadillac sedan, possibly a 2005 model or newer, approached the girl and asked if she needed a ride, police said. She told him no, and he again asked if she was sure she did not need a ride, and again she stated no.

The driver was described as a white male with a full head of gray hair in his late 50s or early 60s, average weight, with pock marks and bumps all over his face.

The 17-year-old saw her neighbor outside his home and told the driver that the man was her uncle, and the driver pulled away toward Hooper Avenue.

The only description given by the neighbor was a black Cadillac, possibly 2005, with New Jersey plates. The girl said she has never seen the man or his vehicle before.
